Projects

30 NAKED TRUTHS

The project features 30 self-portrait drawings, photographs based on them, and challenges the idea of absolute truth, inviting debate and reflection. The project is first presented at Cu29, Plovdiv, in 2022.

GOOD BOYS

The project features a series of male portraits along with short videos, where Harita Asumani shares the stories behind each image. The project was displayed at Little Bird Place in Sofia in 2024, curated by Simeon Vasilev.

FALLING ≠ FLYING

The body of work examines the tension between fear and freedom in dreams, reflecting on the moment when falling transforms into flying, symbolizing vulnerability and empowerment. Presented at KO-OP in 2021.

It’s not time for romance

The artist reflects on the conflict between romantic expression and engagement with global issues, challenging the denial of escapism. Presented at Sofia City Art Gallery as part of the BAZA Award nominees exhibition in 2022.

SYNTHETIC FLOWER OF PATIENCE

Synthetic Flower of Patience explores the nature of patience as an active choice rather than passive waiting. Through 120 hours of meticulous work, 17,044 elements come together—each a conscious refusal to remain still.

FIRST KISS & LAST KISS

The 2023 diptych explores love through memory and repetition, blurring the boundaries of time. The works embrace the kiss—often dismissed in contemporary art—as both decoration and deep emotional experience.

AFTER THE FREEDOM WHAT IS NEXT

The work, presented in 2022 at Kapana Art Gallery, Plovdiv, explores freedom as the act of shedding layers to reveal a bare, vulnerable truth. Freedom is not the absence of limits, but the ability to express oneself despite them.

THE APPLE IS BITTEN OFF

The work examines how receiving something passed down shapes one’s sense of self and future. Presented as part of the Dualism exhibition at ONE Gallery, Sofia, in 2020, it reflects on how we inherit not just material possessions, but also emotions, memories, and responsibilities.

VOLCANO

The artist reflects on how small, repetitive actions lead to emotional eruptions and personal growth. By understanding these patterns, she embraces the fluid nature of identity, finding peace in the process. The works were first presented at the Verona Art Fair 2024.
