30 NAKED TRUTHS

The project includes 30 drawings, photographs inspired by the drawings, and thirty of my beliefs about what is true in the art world. All this is collected in a book.

“30 naked truths” are not truths. They are highly subjective opinions that I deliberately call truths. They are based on my individual experience and are subject to dispute. The dispute is significant. Here lies one of the foundamets of that provocation – building a position. The word “truth” serves as a trigger.

On the other hand, why “naked”? Art often uses metaphors, and I like to take advantage of that. In literature, but also visual art, nudity is a symbol of honesty and vulnerability. In the context of my work, the phrase “naked truths” contains a intentional paradox. Truth should be unshakable in an idealistic world and need no proof, but here in ours, “truths” are born and die every day because we are doomed to growth, and that growth is about changing and breaking established rules.
